Star Fox Zero Review
Star Fox was first released in 1993 on the Super Nintendo. As the title would imply, you take control of Fox McCloud, a space pilot. The story follows you and your anthropomorphic animal friends as you fly through the Lylat system.
You take on the army of the evil scientist Andross, who was previously banished from your planet and now seeks revenge. The Super Nintendo game was blown out of the water when Star Fox 64 came out in 1997.
Now featuring fully voiced characters, the Rumble Pak attachment, fully 3D models, and new characters, this game became an instant classic. It even featured phrases that would become popular internet memes, such as Peppy Hare’s “Do a barrel roll!”
In fact, it was so successful that in 2011, Nintendo decided to rerelease it on the new 3DS system. The gameplay was so well received on the N64 version that Nintendo decided to practically not change it at all.
Apart from improved graphics and 3D capabilities, the only thing that was added was a multiplayer “battle mode.” One of the big upsets that fans had with the games published on the Gamecube was that their favorite characters were replaced.
Nintendo has taken that into consideration, and now the original crew is back in action. You will also be able to hear them in a new way, as Nintendo has new audio capabilities that make it sound like you’re hearing your team through a headset.
Your signature vehicle, the Arwing, is new and improved in this game. It has an almost Transformers type mode, in which it switches from a plane to a ground-based walker. You can also use the new plane, the Gyrowing, which is almost like a drone.

In fact, it has already been stated that the view on the TV will show the overall battlefield, while the Gamepad will show the view from inside the actual cockpit. With these two new viewpoints, you will be able to fire in one direction with the Gamepad and fly with the TV.
Similarly to Star Fox 64 on the 3DS, in Star Fox Zero, you will be able to easily perform flight maneuvers using the two thumbsticks on the Gamepad, including barrel rolls and U-turns.
